Interior and Exterior Cable Railing System – Southold, NY

This modern Long Island home sits on Great Pond and boasts stunning views of both the pond and the Long Island Sound in the distance. When the homeowners decided to renovate the building and keep the existing structure, they turned to Berg Design Architecture. For the renovation, they wanted to create a contemporary home with a transparent design that accentuated the spectacular views. To help achieve this goal, the homeowners opted for a Keuka Studios Ithaca Style cable railing system for both the home interior and exterior.

For the home interior, our clients requested the same railing design as the exterior. The cable railing system encloses a second-story balcony that faces floor-to-ceiling windows. Because of the slim railing post design and the large windows, the entire living room and balcony have unobstructed views of Great Pond.

On its exterior, the home includes a large deck, two staircases, and a second-floor balcony, all enclosed by cable railing. Our clients chose “Sparkle Silver” powder-coated steel posts and a wood top rail to match the home’s foundation and siding. The posts are fascia mounted, leaving even more open space available on the large waterfront deck. The deck features an outdoor eating area and a hot tub with a prime view of the pond.
