Open Stringer Stair with Custom Treads – Rochester, New York

For their realty office in Rochester, New York, our client wanted a one-of-a-kind staircase that would fit their creativity but still meet building code regulations. The client really wanted an open-stringer staircase, so we added cables underneath each tread to make the design code compliant. For graspability, we created a round wood top rail with a custom knife handle railing termination. To create a truly unique appearance, our client wanted mismatched wood for the treads and top rail and wanted a “Sparkle Silver” powder coat for all the steel components.
