Modern Floating Stairs – Bronson, MI

Material and Finish: This project features modern floating stairs with a sleek u-shaped steel mono stringer powder coated in Raven Texture Black and complemented with white oak treads and matching handrails. Custom Ithaca-Style railings made at 36 in height of steel enhance the stairs, decks, balconies, and rooftop creating a cohesive aesthetic. The railing posts are surface mounted throughout. On the exterior the top rail and handrails are made of aluminum and powder-coated to match. All of the railings include the Keuka Cable and Fitting Stystem.
Description: We designed and crafted a unique u-shaped mono stringer staircase, and cable railings for the Interior and exterior of the home. On the interior the railing wraps the staircase, and balconies, for the exterior the same cable railings is used on the deck, rooftop deck and exterior staircase.

The objective of this project was to create synergy between the interior railing and the exterior ensuring a cohesive aesthetic throughout the space.
Key design elements, such as the wide plank floors, wood ceilings, and exposed beams were intentionally matched to the wide stair treads to maintain visual harmony. Additionally, the vertical lines of the Ithaca cable railing posts complement the vertical window muntins resulting in a balanced and unified look. The custom modern floating U-shaped stair with exposed beams and two landings elegantly extends alongside the expansive window. This home strikes a perfect balance between rustic charm and refined elegance.
