Material and Finish: Curved railing posts are custom-made to be fascia mounted with a height of 42-inches and designed to accommodate both cable and glass infill. The railing system features a wide IPE top rail. The elegantly curved Keuka Style posts are constructed from galvanized steel and powder-coated in a "Gamblers Gun Gray" finish.
Description: We designed and crafted fascia mounted railings in our curved Keuka Style for multiple decks on this ocean front home and guest house. The dining deck railing was designed to accommodate glass and cable creating unique environments that either allow for air flow or block the wind.
Cardiff-by-the-Sea is a charming town in Encinitas, CA, renowned for wide-open sandy beaches, gorgeous cliffs, and great surfing. This home originally built in 1979 overlooking the Elijo Lagoon and the Pacific Ocean was completely reinvented to a modern rustic style. An objective of this project was to have a seamless connection to the outdoors with big windows and an easy flow to outdoor living. To preserve the views of the ocean vista the clients and builder Highline Construction and Renovation opted for our curved Keuka Style railing system with gracefully curving railing posts reminiscent of a nautical style. They used a combination of glass railing infill to block the prevailing winds and cable infill allowing for easy airflow, creating diverse environments for enjoying the outdoors. The posts are made to a height of 42 – inches and are galvanized to help with corrosion resistance and then powder coated. Fascia mounting the posts to the decks adds to the clean simple modern aesthetic.
