This receiver is used to tension the cable . The threaded end of the cable is first inserted into the receiver, then the other end in inserted into a push-lock fitting. After the cable is in place it can be tensioned.
The head area is the domed shaped end of the receiver that is larger than the body of the receiver. It acts as a shoulder to support the tension of the cable as it is tightened. The outside of the domed head is broached with a hex broach to accept an Allen wrench to tension the cable.
HOW IT WORKS
The receiver can be used in a horizontal position on stair end posts that have a pitch up to 35 degrees. This eliminates the need to bore hardware holes at an angle on stair runs. The receiver can be used on stair pitches up to approximately without drilling end posts on an angle.
